This Privacy Policy describes how myLangSwitcher ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the myLangSwitcher macOS application ("the App").

1. Information We Do Not Collect

myLangSwitcher is designed with your privacy as a priority. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. Specifically:

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information.
  • We do not transmit any data over the internet.
  • We do not use analytics, crash reporting services, or any third-party tracking SDKs.
  • We do not have access to, record, or store what you type.
  • We do not have access to which applications you use or what websites you visit.

2. What the App Does on Your Device

myLangSwitcher operates entirely on your device. All data stays local:

  • Settings and preferences — stored locally in UserDefaults on your Mac. This includes your chosen hotkeys, overlay style, per-app layout rules, and interface language.
  • Per-app layout memory — a mapping of application bundle IDs to layout identifiers, stored locally only. This data never leaves your device.
  • Custom icons — stored locally in ~/Library/Application Support/myLangSwitcher/icons/ on your Mac.

3. Input Monitoring Permission

myLangSwitcher requires the Input Monitoring permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring) to intercept global keyboard shortcuts. This permission:

  • Allows the app to detect when you press your configured hotkey combination, regardless of which application is in focus.
  • Does not allow the app to log, record, or store keystrokes.
  • Is processed entirely on-device with no data leaving your Mac.

4. App Store

myLangSwitcher is distributed through the Apple Mac App Store. Apple may collect certain analytics and crash data as part of their platform services, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to or control over any data Apple may collect independently.

5. Contact Form on This Website

If you use the contact form on this website, you voluntarily provide your name, email address, and message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties, stored in any database, or used for marketing purposes.

6. Cookies and Tracking on This Website

This website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any analytics services. No personal data is collected when you browse this site.

7. Children's Privacy

myLangSwitcher is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
